Stefano Cestra is recognized as one of the pioneers of live percussion in the London night clubs scene and a complete and reliable artist thanks to his versatility in being able to play many different styles or music from rock to jazz, dance - latin to r&b - hip hop.
Starting as a drummer in two well-known bands based in Florence, Fos and The Bonnie Situation, Stefano moved to London in 1998 to pursue his graduation in drums and percussion at the Drumtech Music School.
Bosco De Oliveira, Paul Elliot and Brian Green were among the highly internationally renowned teachers-musicians Stefano had the opportunity to learn the art of drumming from.
After his graduation Stefano joined the rock scene in a London band where he played drums and co-wrote music and at the same time he began performing as percussionist in night clubs.
In 2003 Stefano performed with Kyle Eastwood's band (thanks to the encounter with producer Michael Stevens), where he shared the spotlight with artists such as Ralph Salmins, Mark Mondesir, Dave 'Higgins, Graeme Flowers etc.
Still in 2003 Stefano was invited by the legendary Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvelas to join Anna as solo percussionist during her Greek tour. This in occasion of the launch of her new album "X" to which he contributed recording parts of percussion.
Upon his return to London he continued performing as percussionist in clubs where he had the opportunity to play for exclusive private events, including Roger Taylor (Duran Duran), Lenny Kravitz, Bon Jovi, Brian Adams, Pink, etc.
In the spotlight of the nightclubs scene he also shared events, gigs, and stage with Calvin Harris, Erick Morillo, Maxi Jazz (Faithless) and so on.
Memorable was the improvised drum duet Stefano had with Matt Sorum from Guns N' Roses, which set the legendary Chinawhite nightclub on fire.
Stefano during his musical journey, had the opportunity to meet several notorious and influential artists also off stage. The list includes his personal hero Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple Of The Dog), Axl Rose, Roger Taylor (Queen), Tommy Lee, Prince, Cindy Blackman, Liam Howlett (The Prodigy), Nicko Mc Brain (Iron Maiden), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Justin Timberlake etc.
Stefano has regularly worked as percussionist at the prestigious Chinawhite "Rock The Polo Cartier" in Windsor;
for F1 world champion Jenson Button's events, and at the Chelsea Stadium for the "Champions League after
parties.
Stefano also performed at the London National History Museum for the "Global Party" and for renowned London brunch events like Coya and Bagatelle, Mayfair .
